Originally a partner with an Adelaide law firm, Richard moved to Darwin in 1980 to establish its Northern Territory office. He and one other partner then purchased the practice and merged with the Darwin based legal firm of Cridland & Bauer in 1989.

Areas of Expertise

  • General commercial advice - providing a broad range of commercial and corporate advice to participants in the resources, pastoral and business sectors;
  • Property and development - acting for many of the property owners within the Territory in the sale, purchase and leasing of properties, as well as advising on major development projects within the Territory; and
  • Local Government - Richard is an acknowledged authority in the area of local government and has worked in the area for more than 25 years. He acts for many of the councils throughout the Northern Territory.

  • Chairman of Anglicare NT.
  • President of the Law Society of the Northern Territory.
  • Chairman of the Royal Darwin Hospital Management Board.
  • Richard is the honorary solicitor for the Charles Darwin University Foundation.
