Tony obtained his LLB from the University of Sydney in 1989. He grew up in Alice Springs and has worked in the Northern Territory (principally in Darwin) since graduating. Tony was Managing Partner at Morgan Buckley between 2000 and 2005 and works mainly in property and corporate matters.

  • Preparing the complex arrangements for the acquisition of gaming machines from licensees in the NT by the Racing and Gaming Authority.
  • Advising a major Northern Territory insurer and financial institution in connection with Financial Services Act reforms.
  • Developing a Privacy Policy for a Northern Territory insurer and financial institution and assisting in quality assurance issues.
  • Developing an electronic banking policy for a large company.
  • Advising a large financier concerning banking powers under the constitution and limits on interstate banking.
  • Advising a large corporation during an investigation of it by the ACCC in connection with alleged anti competitive behaviour including meeting with the regulator and favourably resolving the dispute.
  • Advising a corporation in connection with an investigation of claims under the Fair Trading Act in connection with licensing issues, meeting with the regulator and favourably resolving the dispute.
  • Advising the Alice Springs Taxi Co-op in connection with an investigation of it by the ACCC in connection with alleged anti competitive behaviour including meeting with the regulator and favourably resolving the dispute.
  • Advising a large corporation in connection with a competitor using a deceptively similar name, passing off and other intellectual property rights and obtaining an agreement whereby the competitor ceased using the deceptively similar name.
  • Advising a group of companies on payroll tax matters, grouping and liability.
